racist-yearbook

Earlier tonight Reddit user BearAtlas posted a photo he took of a page he found while thumbing through his grandfather’s yearbook. This wasn’t his great-grandfather or anything so we’re not talking about all that long ago in the grand scheme of things.

I asked BearAtlas to narrow down when and where this yearbook was from. He said it was from Texas (surprise) in 1939. So yeah, way less than 100 years ago we’re talking about here.

It’s so bizarre to see things like this. I mean, you know that racism was way more prevalent back then but to wrap your head around about how blatant it was is difficult. The fact is, our grandparents found this shit funny.
